BOSTON — Three people have died and several people were injured after a car crashed through a busy auto auction Wednesday morning in Massachusetts.
A source told WSB-TV's sister station Boston 25 News that four people received CPR at the Billerica auto auction and the Lahey Clinic in Burlington confirms they are treating six people from the crash, but would not comment on their conditions. Lowell General confirms they are treating three patients.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. at 400 Charter Way in Billerica, which is where Lynnway Auto Auction is located. State police said there is no evidence of an attack or that this was intentional in any way.
According to the Lynnway Auto Auction's website, there was an auction at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday. The business has been in operation since 1997 and does mechanical and auto body repairs.
Witnesses told Boston 25 News that a driver was taking the Jeep Cherokee out for viewing when he had a medical emergency and shot through the building, hitting several people.
"He went through the door, went through the lane of people, and then through the building...He was going fast, he was going really fast," the witness said.
