LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a school bus in Liberty County.
GSP confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that troopers responded to the crash on SR 196 at Ray Road around 6:50 a.m. Tuesday.
It was a single-vehicle crash, troopers said. Investigators said the Liberty County school bus lost control, ran off the road, entered a ditch and hit a tree.
A 5-year-old girl died in the crash. The girl was identified as Cambria Shuman.
The Georgia State Patrol identified the child as Cambria Schuman of Hinesville. She was a student in the Liberty County School System, according to the district.

Georgia State Patrol said 22 students were on the bus at the time of the crash, and there were multiple injuries.
The injured students were taken to Liberty Regional Hospital and Winn-Army Hospital.
The bus driver, 62-year-old Evelyn Rodriguez, was trapped and extricated from the bus. She was taken to Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
The crash remains under investigation and GSP said charges are pending.
