JACKSON COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia State Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal crash late Wednesday night in Jackson County in which three people died.
Georgia State Patrol officials said the wreck was the result of a chase initiated by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office.
Georgia State Troopers confirmed Banks County deputies tried to stop the driver for speeding, when the chase started early Thursday morning.
They said it lasted for about three minutes along Interstate 85 and ended in Jackson County, when the driver lost control and crashed at Highway 98.

The Georgia State Patrol identified the three victims as driver Rebecca Mack, 21, of Greenville, South Carolina; Clifton Gordon, 23, of Greenville; and Jamarkeiz Jenkins, 29, of Mauldin, South Carolina.
Two 22-year-old women, also from Greenville, were injured in the crash.
