UNION COUNTY, S.C. — An Atlanta man was shot and killed Saturday while on a hunting trip with family members in South Carolina, an official said.
Brian Gregory Pickle, 30, was shot by his brother after his brother mistook him for a deer, according to a report by wbtv.com.
Pickle was in Union County, S.C., with his brother and father when the incident happened, coroner William Holcombe said Tuesday. The 911 call came in about 6 p.m.

The autopsy showed that Pickle died of a gunshot wound to the head, Holcombe said.
“It was a family hunting outing turned horribly tragic,” the coroner said.
Further details were not available, including the brother’s name.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources are investigating the incident.
