ATLANTA — Falcons’ officials say the team’s playoff run is sparking more interest in seat licenses at the new stadium.
Like most new stadiums you have buy personal seat license to purchase reserved and season tickets at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, scheduled to open later this year.
The $1.5 billion stadium will break new frontiers in technology and design for mega sports arenas. A retractable roof, massive 360 degree halo video board and other features are designed to bring fans closer to the action.
Chief Revenue Officer Mike Drake says as the Falcons winning streak continues, more fans are shelling out for personal seat licenses, and those funds that help finance the project.
“Our uptick has been tremendous. We've moved a large portion of our seating, we're sold out in 75 sections of the building,” Drake said. “We do anywhere between 100 and 150 appointments per day."

The personal seat license, a one-time fee that provide ownership rights for the 30 year duration of the stadium lease, cost $500 to $5,550 dollars. Purchases can be financed over ten years and be transferred or resold.
In other markets, PSL's have gained value over time.
“You have parents and kids coming in and buying their seat license with a plan of passing it down for generations,” Drake said.
One of the most unique features of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, is that it's scalable, meaning depending on the sport, be it football, basketball or soccer, you can shrink or expand the amount of seats.
“There's things like the Final Four when you put the court in the center of the field and you can get up to 83,000 in this building,” Drake said.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host the Final Four in 2020 and the Super Bowl in 2019.
