Man's body found along Atlanta train tracks

ATLANTA — The medical examiner is trying to identify a man found dead on railroad tracks Tuesday morning in northeast Atlanta.

A woman discovered the body near Piedmont Road and Lakeshore Drive. %

Witnesses describe the victim as a man in his 30s. Investigators said they don't know if he fell onto the tracks or if he was pushed.

The tracks run underneath Piedmont Road in Buckhead.

Atlanta police tell Channel 2’s Audrey Washington that the investigation is still in its early stages, but right now they are investigating this a possible accidental death.

Washington spoke to the woman who discovered the body.

“Nobody wants to see something like that, a dead body. He was not recognizable at all,” said Sophia Brauer.
