ATLANTA — Police have a suspect in custody following a double shooting in southeast Atlanta.
This shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the area around the Lakewood Café fish, wings, and subs restaurant.
The restaurant is right next to a Chevron gas station along Jonesboro Road near the intersection of Lakewood Avenue.

Police confirm that a man was shot in the back and a woman shot in the stomach during a robbery at the restaurant.
A woman told Channel 2’s Nicole Carr she saw the victims right after the shooting on the side of that restaurant.

“I saw a lady laying on the ground. The man was trying to help,” the victim said, asking not to be identified.

The victims were conscious when police arrived at the hospital.
