ATLANTA — Neighbors in southwest Atlanta are concerned about metal spikes they say are popping up in the road.
The issue was reported in the Capitol View neighborhood.
At least six people have reported damage to their tires within the past 30 days.
The most recent incident happened Friday near Genesse and Desoto avenues.
Area residents believe the spikes may be pieces of a fence that have been sharpened, and someone is leaving them in the street on purpose.

"It's vandalism and it shouldn't be allowed," neighbor Sheldon Mabry said. "I want them to stop."
Mabry said the spikes punctured his tire four weeks ago and they are dangerous.
"You can crash and severely hurt you or any passengers in your vehicle," he said.
Another neighbor said she found a spike in her tire last week.
"It's a nuisance and it becomes expensive when you have to buy new tires," Jennifer Minor-Walker said.
Channel 2's Matt Johnson notified police about the problem, and a sergeant said he would look into it.
Police were providing extra presence in the neighborhood Sunday for unrelated issues.
"Hopefully having the police out here might give somebody second thoughts," neighbor Walter Reeves said.
Neighbors plan to discuss the issue with the Atlanta police community liaison at the next neighborhood meeting.
