ATLANTA — The final preparations are underway for the world's largest 10K race.
The Peachtree Road Race will feature 60,000 runners making their way from Lenox Square to Piedmont Park to celebrate the Fourth of July. %

Saturday morning, staff members told Channel 2’s Nicole Carr everything was going smoothly.
They're basically were tying a bow on little last-minute things like making sure the water stations are all set for runners.
For spectators and runners alike the name of the game is hydration and early arrival for the 6 a.m. race.
"I like to call it, rather than the world's largest 10K, the world's largest running party,” Rich Kenah, executive director of the Atlanta Track Club, said. “There's no race in the world that sort of delivers this kind atmosphere. There are spectators who have had the same spectating spot for decades. So it's a party as well as a race."
So the runners are at the Georgia World Congress Center right now picking up their bibs, and of course we know anyone can go and get race gear there, as well.
Kanah suggests first-time spectators make sure they arrive early enough to catch a spot on so-called Cardiac Hill and see the runners come in for the final stretch.
