ATLANTA — There is an urgent search underway by police after they say a man shot and killed a 23-year-old in a downtown Atlanta store with dozens of people nearby.

A witness told Channel 2’s Nefertiti Jaquez she was standing beside the victim when he was gunned down.

"Next thing I know he came back in and started shooting," Sandra Amey told Jaquez. "It happened so fast."

It all happened on Saturday around 6:30 p.m. inside this Quik Mart along Broad Street.

Police said 16 security cameras were rolling when a man dressed in a white and yellow jumpsuit and green baseball cap threatened the victim, before opening fire.

"First he came in and said some words to the guy, then left out the store," Amey said.

Outside the convenience store, cameras captured the suspect nervously pacing back and forth before he strolled in with his gun drawn.

"When he came into the store he already had the gun out and came directly to that customer and started shooting," Amey said.
