ATLANTA — A Buckhead couple is warning others about the night they were rear-ended and then carjacked by the same group.
The couple was headed home from dinner, and was at the intersection of East Wesley and Alpine roads around 11 p.m. Tuesday when they were rear-ended by a Jaguar with three people inside.
“You look in your rearview mirror and it's a new Jaguar. You know, you're not thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, this person is gonna get me,’” the victim said.
The victim told Channel 2’s Matt Johnson that when he got out of his car to check on the damage, a man put a gun to his head. The robbers then took off in both cars.
“I was a little more in shock than anything else,” the man said. “I go to look at his car and we're looking at it together, and by the time I looked up, I said, ‘Hey, I don't think we hurt each other's car,’ he put a gun to my head.”
The victim said he considered reaching for his gun in the glove box but feared the suspects would panic.
“If I had drew that weapon, he could have shot me. He could have shot my wife,” the victim said.
But he says next time, his gun won’t be out of reach.
“I will always carry now. I’m going to have it on me 24/7,” he said.

Atlanta police said the Jaguar was stolen. They said just after the robbery, the suspects drove away from officers who tried to make a traffic stop.
The victim says, thankfully, the thieves didn't know there was an iPad in the glove box and that's how police found one of the suspects. They were able to use the Find My iPad app to track Daquarious Rowland, 17, to East Point.
John Monroe, who has lived in the neighborhood for nearly 30 years, says the incident makes him concerned for his safety. He told Johnson that he’s never thought to lock his car doors and call 911 after a minor accident, but he will now.
“I think, unfortunately, that’s what everyone has to think about now,” Monroe said.
The victim said he wants this to be a warning to other people.
“You need to be real careful 'cause you just don't know what their intentions are,” he said.
The two other suspects remain on the run.
