MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a small plane crash in northwest Georgia.
Deputies arrived at the scene Saturday around 5:30 p.m.
According to the Murray County sheriff, a small, twin-engine plane out of Tennessee crashed on Piney Hill Road in Chatsworth.
WTVC in Chattanooga says authorities confirmed there were four people on the plane and none of them survived the crash.
Witnesses described the scary moment they saw the plane go down.
"I just looked up in the sky and saw a plane, it didn't look like a plane at the time, but it just caught on fire and there was smoke everywhere and debris started flying and it hit the ground," witness April Edwards told WTVC. "It was bad."'
The sheriff and witnesses said there was heavy rain before the crash.
Federal officials are investigating the crash.
