COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police have charged two suspected gang members in connection with the murder of a Marietta teen, found shot in the head in his small duplex weeks ago.
Marietta police were called to a home on Wilson Circle on August 27, where they found 17-year-old Miles Saunders dead inside.
The two suspects were not from the area, and police said their parents helped turned them over to police.
Police charged two teens, 16-year-old Harrison Summerour, and 17-year-old Nicholas Palmer, with murder.
Warrants said Summerour fired the fatal shot that killed Saunders. Both suspects allegedly with ties to a major gang, authorities said.
“I don’t know why the shooting took place I can tell you there are gang ties to all this and gang charges apply to both suspects that are in custody right now,” said Marietta police officer Chuck McPhilamy.

Saunders’ neighbor said she doesn’t believe the victim was in a gang.
“I don’t think Miles was in no gang, I really don’t,” said Stephanie Wilson.
Wilson said she wonders if it was a gang initiation or planned attack on Saunders.
There’s a relief in the Marietta neighborhood, that there are at least some answers.
“And I feel so much that they done caught those guys I am so happy,” Wilson said.
