77-year-old man who disappeared after picking up groceries found

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The 77-year-old man who disappeared after picking up groceries has been found, according to police.

Fred Blacksmith was last known to be at the Publix located at 6110 Cedarcrest Road in Acworth, Georgia around 1 p.m. Saturday, according to his family and police.

However, police said on Sunday afternoon he was found safe in Jacksonville, Florida.  His family has been notified of his whereabouts and will be reunited with him.

Blacksmith suffers from diabetes and takes medications for chronic pain, police said. Blacksmith does not suffer from any cognitive impairment.

Blacksmith is described as a white male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 220 lbs, with hazel eyes and grey hair.
