DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after a woman was hit early Tuesday morning on I-85 North in DeKalb County.
"It appears that a woman was struck as she was attempting to cross 85," DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "She has been transported and is expected to survive."

The entire northbound side of I-85 near Shallowford Road was blocked while crews investigated and cleared the scene.

Two lanes have reopened, but delays remain.
There have been several incidents recently of people getting hit while trying to cross local highways and interstates.
Five people were hit by cars just last week while trying to cross Interstate 20.
