BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Buford Highway has has reopened between North Druid Hills and West Druid Hills roads after a fire started underneath a bridge Monday evening.
Firefighters said a debris fire started under the Peachtree Creek bridge shortly before 9:30 p.m.
Fire crews have put out the fire quickly, but the bridge remained closed until just before midnight while crews checked the bridge's structural integrity.
Police asked people to avoid Buford Highway while the investigation was occurring.
