DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A driver was killed when he crashed his Maserati into a Brookhaven home early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened on the 1600 block of North Druid Hills Road, near Lenox Park Boulevard around 3 a.m.
Georgia State Patrol said the driver was pulled over in Buckhead, but sped off into Brookhaven.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington spoke to troopers about the crash on Channel 2 Action News This Morning.
“The vehicle was initially stopped for failure to maintain lane, move over law and stopping across a stop arm. The suspect vehicle initially stopped for the trooper and then as the trooper approached the vehicle, fled the scene and initiated a pursuit,” said Sgt. Stacey Collins.

A female passenger was injured in the crash.
Troopers said it appears alcohol and speed were in a factor in the crash.
There were people inside the home at the time of the crash but they were unhurt.
"The wife and I were asleep with the baby in the house and we heard kind of a thunderous boom, so I tossed on some clothes and found that there was a car that just hit the house," the homeowner said.
The area was blocked off due to the investigation.
