DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are investigating what led up to a shooting at an apartment complex that sent a man to the hospital.
Police said the victim was shot in the chest Thursday nightin the parking lot of Creekside Forest Apartments on Ember Drive. They said it appeared that the victim tried to run to get help and collapsed in front of an apartment.
He was taken to an area hospital, where he remained in critical condition Friday afternoon, police said.
Police said witnesses described the shooter as a male estimated to be in his 20s.
No arrests have been made, but police said they are following leads.
“We are still trying to talk to witnesses to determine what happened. It’s still very early in the investigation,” DeKalb County Police Homicide Unit Lt. Mark Lavine said.
No one else was hurt in the shooting, police said.
