Murdered teen's car found behind DeKalb restaurant

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — The mother of a teen who was shot and killed, before police say her body was dumped in a park, says she has a sense of guilt.

Angela Shiel told Channel 2’s Nefertiti Jaquez she feels guilty because she and her daughter were not on the best of terms when she found out she had been killed.

Now that guilt is eating away at her because she says she didn't get a chance to say "I love you." She didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

"I feel like part of my heart was taken away and a part of me is missing," Shiel said. "I feel worried and sick that she may have suffered. I don't know if she was tortured, I don't know what happened."

The unknown is why Shiel said she cannot stop sobbing.

"I worry that she knew for hours that she might die," Shiel said.

That fear came when homicide detectives came to her door Tuesday

Adding to this mother's pain is the sense of guilt she feels.

“I feel so guilty... (It’s) the shoulda, woulda, couldas," she told Jaquez.

But detectives have assured Shiel the only person who is guilty is the person who pulled the trigger.

Meanwhile, police still have no idea who murdered the 19-year-old aspiring hairstylist.

Detectives got a break in the case Wednesday morning when her stolen car was found behind a restaurant in Stone Mountain some 20 miles away from the crime scene.

“Did she hurt? Did they beat her up? You know? How long did she know she was going to die? That kills me,” Shiel said.

Police told Channel 2 Action News they're processing the car for evidence. They ask if you know anything about the case to give them a call.
