Police arrest man accused of attacking women working late hours

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police arrested a man hours after they releasing a sketch of a man accused of preying on female clerks who work after hours.

A woman, who asked not to be identified, was robbed at knife point and sexually assaulted March 11 while working at a Little Caesar's restaurant on Candler Road in DeKalb County.

Store video shows a man demanding money at the counter, then forcing the woman from behind the counter and into a hallway with a knife.

“(He said), ‘If you do what I ask you to do, you’ll go home to your kids,’” the victim said.

Investigators said he sexually assaulted her.

“You could tell it’s not his first time. You could tell he wasn’t trying to cover his face up. He was well-dressed, no drugs, didn’t smell like liquor. Looked like he had done this before,” the victim said.

A fellow employees realized what was happening and called 911. The man left in an older-model Ford Explorer.

“As he’s walking out he says, ‘Have a nice day’ and he walked out,” the victim said.

Investigators believe the same man struck again overnight Wednesday when he followed a couple home from the same strip mall, robbed them and sexually assaulted the female.

Police say the male was able to fight off the attacker with a rake.

Thursday morning, DeKalb police announced on Twitter that they had arrested Jerome Page, 47, of Decatur. HE He is charged with armed robbery and sexual battery, and is in jail on $1,500 bond.
