DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A wife and mother of four is left with more questions than answers after her husband was killed cutting down a tree.
"Did he suffer? Did he call out my name in those last moments of his life?" wife Wanda LeBlanc told Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez, saying pain consumes her thoughts since losing her husband.
“I just can’t believe I’m never going to see him again.”
On Saturday, Brandon LeBlanc, 39, died while on the job. Wanda said she lost her soulmate.
“I felt like a part of me died. I feel like my heart is crumbled to a million pieces,” LeBlanc said. “For him to be ripped away from me and my children, I just can’t comprehend it.”
DeKalb fire investigators say Brandon LeBlanc was cutting limbs from a tree along Beliare Circle when he fell and hit the trunk of the tree.

Investigators said the skilled tree cutter was wearing a double safety harness and his helmet, so they’re still unsure why he fell or how he died.
“I don’t know what the future holds for us, or if our children will have a home,” Wanda LeBlanc told Jaquez.
Now the broken-hearted housewife has to bury the love of her life and support a family since her husband was the breadwinner.
“I pray that he didn’t suffer. I pray that it was quick,” Wanda LeBlanc said.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family.
