The mother of Andrew Spencer is still in grief counseling for that, so losing her only other son - killed Thursday morning - is too much for the mother deal with.

Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes spoke to the victim's uncle about the family's devastation.

“Devastating, words cannot describe the pain that she's in,” Jerome Gilmore said of the grief Spencer’s mother is going through.

Gilmore is speaking for his sister, the mother of the victim, because she hasn't made it to Atlanta from Detroit yet.

“I can't explain what she's going through having lost two sons in less than two years,” Gilmore said.

Gilmore said Spencer moved to the metro Atlanta area from Detroit because he was already living here, and Spencer wanted to give his music career a shot.

“I promised my sister that I was going to look after him,” Gilmore said.

Spencer was doing well, Gilmore said, getting attention from major record companies.

But on Thursday morning he left a birthday party at a nightclub, and stopped at the QT gas station on Buford Highway in Chamblee. Police said he exchanged words with the suspect and when Spencer came out, more words were exchanged between the two and police believe the suspect shot him several times.

“How can you put into words, someone being that despicable, that evil to do something like this and the way it was done was like he's done this before,” Gilmore said.

Police said they're not sure if the suspect are from Atlanta, especially after hearing their voices on the surveillance video.

“He said he detected a New York East coast accent, it was very strong,” Gilmore said.

Spencer's mother will arrive in Atlanta later Friday.
