Where to watch fireworks around metro Atlanta

Fireworks light up the Downtown skyline. 

ATLANTA — If you're looking to enjoy fireworks, good food, music or family-friendly entertainment, this Fourth of July guide may have the Independence Day celebration that's just right for you.

July 4

Gates open at 6 p.m. at the Park.

WSB-TV will host "Georgia Salutes America" live from Centennial Olympic Park Drive starting at 8:30 p.m.

J-Fly and other bands will perform and the fireworks with synchronized music will begin at 9:45 p.m.

No pets, grills, large umbrellas or tents allowed. No coolers, outside food or alcohol allowed, except for water.

Remember that park visitors under the age of 17, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 25 years of age or older.

Coca-Cola July 4 Fest at Six Flags over Georgia - Cobb County

Fireworks can be enjoyed at the theme park starting when it gets dark. 

Salute to the Red, White & Blue in East Point - Fulton County

This family friendly event take place from 3 to11 p.m. at the Downtown Commons.

Patrons can enjoy a vendor market, musical performances, food and fireworks, which start at 9:30 p.m.

This years celebration includes a Summer kids zone with inflatable amusements, games and water features. Bring blankets and chairs but no food or pets.

Atlanta Braves fireworks - Cobb County

The Atlanta Braves will have fireworks at Suntrust Park following their game with the Houston Astros.

Gwinnett Braves fireworks - Gwinnett County

 

The Gwinnett Braves will have fireworks at Coolray Field following their game against the Norfolk Tides.

The Pied Piper Parade begins at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Decatur.

The concert on the square will start at 7 p.m. and fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.

This extravaganza will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Roswell High School on the front lawn.

Expect live performances, a kid's zone and food trucks with spectacular fireworks beginning at dusk.

Bring you picnic chairs and blankets, but no pets allowed.

Independence Day Celebration in Peachtree City - Fayette County

This Independence eve event goes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There will be food, a parade, festival, live music, family activities and fireworks over Lake Peachtree, which start at dusk. 

Star-Spangled Snellville - Gwinnett County

This event is from 4 to 10 p.m. at the newly renovated Snellville Town Green and surrounding areas.

Enjoy family-friendly entertainment, including food vendors, a large playground of inflatables, train rides and a space ball.

Fireworks are set to begin around 9:30 p.m. when the sky gets dark.

This event starts with a parade at 9 a.m. beginning at Tabernacle Baptist parking lot on Douglas Street.

Other festivities start at 4 p.m. at Dellinger Park and will end with fireworks, which begin after 9 p.m.

The event will continue until 10 p.m. where there will be arts and crafts, children's activities, entertainment and more.

The fun run will take place at 8 a.m. with a fireworks display to begin at 9 p.m.

Bring your chairs and meet your friends in oceanfront Neptune Park, Postell Park and Casino Bandstand, where you can expect an arts and crafts show, live music and more.

 - Gwinnett County

Festivities run from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Lilburn City Park.

Live music, food, fireworks and alcohol (available for purchase to adults 21+).

Its recommended you bring a blanket, but tents are not permitted.

Pets will be permitted in certain areas.

Coolers are allowed, but subject to being searched and no outside alcohol allowed.

This event begins at 10 a.m. with a parade, live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and a fireworks finale.

This event is being held at Keswick Park Soccer Field from 5 to 10 p.m. 

Expect an all-ages celebration with several food options, fireworks, a kids bike parade, corn-hole tournament, live music, and fireworks.

Alcoholic beverages are excluded. 

Freedom Fest Community Christian Festival - Walton County

This event starts at 6 p.m. at Legion Field Monroe with free food, live bands, kids' activities and a fireworks display that will begin after dark.

Attraction hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the laser show and fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Brunswick's Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration - Glynn County

Expect free games, free watermelon and fireworks at the Mary Ross Waterfront Park in the heart of historic Downtown Brunswick. 

The festivities start at 7 p.m. and fireworks over the waters of the East River and Oglethrope Bay start about 9 p.m. and will last for 30 minutes.

Robin Lake Beach opens at 7 a.m., the beach bar opens at 10 a.m. the FSU Flying Circus performance begins at 3:30 p.m. and you can expect live music, beach activities and a fireworks show to begin at 9:30 p.m.

Festivities are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Expect children's rides and inflatables, live music, food and beverage concessions.

There will also be a special Movies Under The Stars presentation of "The LEGO Batman Movie" with a fireworks display at the Mall of Georgia.

Festivities will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will last until 10 p.m.

Enjoy food, games, live music, lots of family fun and a fireworks show, which will begin around 9:30 p.m.

This event is from 6 to 10 p.m. at Matilda's Music under the pines. 

There will be entertainment, children's activities, food, live music and fireworks at Wills Park.

Festivities start at 4 p.m. at Cauble Park. 

There will be live music, water activities and fireworks over Lake Acworth.

Celebrate on Jekyll Islands with it's Independence Day parade at 9 a.m. through the historic district, which include prizes.

Join the Red, White and Bounce starting at noon to 6 p.m. for activities like water sliding, bounce houses, sidewalk sales and live music.

Fireworks will be after sunset, around 9 p.m.

Annual 4th of July Fireworks in Helen, Ga. - White County

Join the annual display of beautiful fireworks held at dusk and will end at 10 p.m. behind the Alpine Village Shoppes and Helen Welcome Center.

The days events begin at 7:45 a.m. with the 21st annual Woodstock Freedom Run,

Following the race will be the annual July 4 parade, which will start at 10 a.m.

After the parade you can expect music, food, arts and crafts and kids activities with a fireworks finale planned to begin at 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. behind the Target shopping center in the area of Woodstock Square Avenue.

Canton Fourth of July - Cherokee County 

There will be a parade at 5 p.m. followed by a live concert from 6 to 9 p.m. and a fireworks finale at dusk at the Riverstone Shopping Center.

July 4th Celebration and Fireworks in Powder Springs - Cobb County

Events run from 7 to 10 p.m. in Downtown Powder Springs.

Expect games, inflatables, vendors and food throughout the celebration, which will end with a spectacular fireworks show.

Gather your friends and family to enjoy a fireworks extravaganza sure to light up the mountain sky in Hiawassee, Ga. This event will begin around 9:45 p.m.

- Douglas County

Expect live entertainment and some of the best fireworks in South Georgia.

You can tailgate or go into the stands at JC Adams Municipal Park to enjoy the fireworks show.

Gates will open at 4 p.m.

- Chatham County

Expect Independence Day fireworks on the beach starting around 9 and going until about 9:45 p.m.

- Chatham County

This firework event will be held at Tybee Beach Pier and Pavilion starting at about 9:15 and going until 10 p.m.

Come early and plan to stay because it's one of Tybee's busiest days of the year and the island fills up fast.

4th of July Spectacular in Watkinsville

- Oconee County 

This event is being held at Oconee Veterans park and will include family fun activities which start at 6:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

No pets are allowed at this event.

Other festive events that don't include fireworks

Join the markets inaugural event from 5 - 11 p.m. Guest are invited to break out their red, white and blue for an evening of barbeque, libations, live music, entertainment and a wonder fireworks view.

 - Atlanta 

Red, White and Brew includes unlimited beer, food, live music and aquarium exhibits in the oceans ballroom, which begins at 6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. July 1. 

Guest can enjoy food, booze and tunes near the beltline at Two Urban Licks from 11 to 4 p.m. on Saturday July 1.

This show stars Magician Peter Morrison with show times starting at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. through Independence Day weekend.

This annual event begins at 7 p.m., then you can eat, drink and party along Buckhead's entertainment district July 1.

Enjoy complimentary themed shots, drink specials, party beads, bands and DJs' starting at the Lost Dog Tavern. 

Don't forget to wear USA colors and outfits.

Hush, Hush Red & Blue (Silent Disco) - Atlanta

This event begins at 5 p.m. for attendees ages 21 and older on July 1.

Expect to rock a red and blue LED headset to all American jams in a mobile-music-listening environment.

Cumming’s July Fourth Celebration - City of Cummings Fairgrounds - Forsyth County

Festivities run from 6 p.m to 11 p.m. on July 3.

There will be a dance contest, food vendors and children's activities. 

This event is on Tuesday beginning at noon and going until 10 p.m.

Get your grass skirts and leis ready. There will be delicious food and drink specials.

Explore and enjoy the natural beauty and historical significance of Atlanta's largest public park from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum. 

The parade starts at 9 a.m. at All Saints Church.

Expect a marching band, floats, animal units and local celebrities.

This years theme is "A Small Town in a Big City."

 - Atlanta

The race starts at 7:30 a.m. and follows a scenic 10K course from Buckhead to Piedmont Park.

This race starts at 8 a.m. on Independence Day at Nash Farm.

- DeKalb County

This event is scheduled from noon-6 p.m. at Revival on Church Street.

The all-ages celebration includes barbecue, vegetarian food options, beer and outdoor games.

3rd Annual Barbecue & Bluegrass 4th of July Celebration  - Fulton County

This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Grounds of Barrington Hall where there will be a children's area with games, crafts and live music.

Expect barbecue, beer, soft drinks, food vendors and desserts for sale.

Independence Day celebration at For McAllister State Park - Bryan County

This event will have old fashioned games and fun for all, which include cannon firings.
