ATLANTA — A national business magazine named Georgia the number one state in which to do business for the fifth straight year.
And that could help lure Amazon to the state.
Channel 2's Richard Elliot was at an economic development news conference Monday with Governor Nathan Deal.
For the fifth straight year, Site Selection chose Georgia as the top state to do business.

Job creation was the number one goal for Deal and all of state government during the recession when the state’s unemployment rate rose into the double digits.
So what does this new ranking mean for attracting Amazon to Georgia?
Deal said Georgia ought to be very high on the list just because of the list. The speaker of the house told Elliot that if Amazon “wants a winner, they should come to Georgia.”
Behind this ranking is a new job opportunity for a parent, a new business for a community & more economic opportunity for Georgians. pic.twitter.com/iu06FLVHBr
