GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — An eighth grade football player was injured during a game Saturday.
William Parker, a student at Wesleyan School, was playing in the game against Woodward Academy when it happened.
Woodward confirmed there was an incident, but there are few details as to what happened.
Dozens of fellow players, friends, parents and coaches gathered Sunday at Wesleyan School’s Austin Chapel to pray for Parker and his family.
Wesleyan sent channel 2's Tony Thomas a message saying, "Out of respect for HIPAA laws and for our families we do not comment on the health status of any of our students. We will provide additional information when we are able."
Please join us in prayer at 2:00pm at Austin Chapel to lift up William Parker and his family.
