GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A teenage girl and her boyfriend are in the hospital after allegedly killing her grandparents and then trying to kill themselves with a knife.
Police said Cassie Bjorge, 17, and her boyfriend, Johnny Ryder, 19, were barricaded in an apartment off McGinnis Ferry Road. They were taken to the hospital around 12:30 p.m. with self-inflicted knife wounds.
Detectives tell Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach that the deaths of Randall and Wendy Bjorge Sunday morning weren't an accident, nor were they a murder-suicide.
Officers went to the couple’s home on Furlong Run in Lawrenceville more than once trying to make contact with them after receiving a call from a relative who lives out of state.

A little after midnight Saturday, officers went inside.
"The family members hadn't heard from them in about a week, so they've been calling," David Smith, with the Gwinnett County Police Department, said. "We've been out to the location before to make contact. This time, we actually entered the home."

Police told Channel 2’s Chris Jose they went to the couple’s home after responding to an assault call a mile and a half away involving Ryder and his family.
Investigators found a car belonging to the Bjorges.
