HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Atlanta Falcons players returned to their facility in Flowery Branch on Tuesday to clean out their lockers following a season that took them to the Super Bowl.
Players said they are just as down about their Super Bowl loss as the fans are.
“You’re not as let down as we feel. We feel bad for you. We know you guys are on an emotional roller coaster just like us,” Sean Witherspoon said.
As they packed up, players said they are thankful for the fans who rooted them on all year.
“Thank you for all the support. Sorry we didn’t end the way that we intended,” Deion Jones said.

“You guys have been a huge part of us making it this far,” Levine Toilolo said.
Head coach Dan Quinn agreed that the fans were great this season.
“To have this connection between the city and the team has been exactly what I hoped it will build,” he said.
Despite feeling down, players said they will use this feeling to fuel their drive to succeed in the future.
“Remember the feeling we had after the game. Let that fuel us. Let that feeling kind of really motivate our offseason,” Brian Poole said.
Many players said they can’t wait for the next season to start.
