HALL COUNTY, Ga. — The Gainesville Police Department is investigating after a body was found at Lake Lanier.
Sgt. Kevin Holbrook confirmed with Channel 2 Action News authorities were trying to retrieve the body on Sunday afternoon.
At 11:30 a.m. fishermen located what they believed to be a body floating in the lake and called 911.

With the assistance of Hall County Fire's marine rescue boat, the body was retrieved from the water.
