HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A sheriff’s deputy and two inmates are recovering after a wreck that shut down a highway in borth directions in Hall County.
Hall County sheriff’s officials said a Whitfield County sheriff’s vehicle and a camper collided Monday morning at Clarks Bridge Road and Highway 52.
A fire resulting from the crash was quickly extinguished.

Steve Gallo said he was pulling away from a stop sign after having stopped when the deputy failed to stop.
“He plowed right into our trailer and knocked it right out of the truck,” Gallo said.
The deputy was transporting two inmates at the time of the crash, authorities said.

The deputy suffered unspecified, non-life threatening injuries. The two inmates suffered minor injuries. All three were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to Hall County sheriff’s officials.
Sheriff’s officials said the Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
