HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A Henry County homeowners' association wants a Donald Trump supporter to take down the really big campaign sign he put up after he said vandals burned his smaller one.
William Powers told Channel 2’s Richard Elliot that someone burned and stole his smaller Donald Trump signs.
But when he replaced them with that really big one, the HOA told Powers that sign said violates neighborhood rules.
“I wouldn't do that to anyone. We all have freedom of speech,” Powers told Elliot.
Powers said someone burned up one of his Trump campaign signs you can still see the burn mark in his yard. And he says they stole his other ones.
So Powers went over to the Henry County GOP office, where he volunteers, and got the biggest sign they had and then attached it to the front of his house.

“I took strong wire like cable wire and I tied it to two pillars,” Powers said.
The problem is, the sign, and all the others he has, clearly violates the homeowners association rules which states he can put up one political sign.
So it sent him a letter, ordering him to take them down.
He's appealing the decision.
“I'm waiting for their approval to keep my large Trump sign up until after we win the election,” Powers told Elliot.
He's hoping he can simply wait them out until after the vote. He believes anyone should be able to put up campaign signs, even Hillary Clinton supporters, without fear that someone would set them on fire.
“You vote for whoever you want. I didn't figure they would take it out on a sign to get at me,” Powers said.
Powers did call 911 and file a police report, but he doesn't think anyone will ever catch the vandals.
