Man shot in road-rage incident in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating after one person was shot in a road-rage incident on Highway 92 Friday evening.

Investigators say the road-rage incident involved a black SUV and a van near Robin Road in front of a Kroger.

Witnesses say one driver cut the other one off, and both drivers began arguing with each other.

The Sheriff's Office says driver of the van, Ronald Beswick-Diaz, fired multiple shots. The victim took off driving down Highway 92 towards a sheriff's precinct.

Investigators say the Beswick-Diaz followed the victim to the precinct and fired more gunshots.

"We believe the victim came here thinking there may have been some deputies here at the precinct or getting the Fire Department to get someone to come out to help," Cherokee County Deputy Joshua Watkins said.

The victim crashed his SUV at a Hardee's, where  Beswick-Diaz allegedly fired more gunshots before driving off.
