JOLIET, Ill. — An pregnant Illinois mother and her 3 sons are dead after a pick-up slammed into them on their way to the boys' bible camp.
Will County Sheriff's deputies say 29-year-old Lindsey Schmidt was driving her sons, 2-year-old Caleb, 4-year-old Weston and 6-year-old Owen to camp on July 24. Police say a pickup truck crashed into them just a block from their home in Beecher, a suburb about 40 miles south of Chicago.
The driver, a 25-year-old man, failed to stop at a stop sign and hit Schmit's car on the driver's side. He sustained minor injuries.
