NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Newly released dash cam video shows a Buford woman yell and pull away from officers after they say she crashed into an officer while driving drunk.
Police charged Ceijai Broughton last Thursday morning after they said the Buckhead bartender slammed into Officer Jomo Bent’s car as he worked a traffic detail on Ga. 400 near Mansell Road.
“I didn’t know he was on the actual road,” Broughton told police in the video.“I saw the lights and I tried to move over but I didn’t move over in time.”
Broughton told police she had just left her job at the bar, but her employer told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik she was not there and had left a club.

“I’ve got to ask you, what did you have to drink before you drove?" the officer asked her. “I had a beer tonight,” she told them.
Video shows Broughton take a field sobriety test, then refuse to take a breathalyzer exam. It also shows her become agitated when officers searched her car.
“Ask me, please. It’s my property,” she can be heard telling police. “Go through all of it, I don’t care.”
Police eventually charged Broughton with DUI, following too closely, and for violating the Georgia move-over law. Through a friend, she said she had no comment on the arrest.
Bent remains on leave, a department spokesman said, and is still in pain, but should be returning to work soon.
