ROSWELL, Ga. — Roswell police are investigating after someone stole a loaded gun out of a former Atlanta Braves player’s truck.
According to police, John Rocker said he was working out at LA Fitness on Holcolmb Bridge Road earlier this week when someone broke into his truck and stole the gun and other items.
“It’s just a bunch of punk kids -- 18-, 19-, 20-year-old little punk kids,” Rocker told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik.
Rocker said he’s not sure how the thieves broke into the truck.
“They stole a .357 Magnum out of my door console that was fully loaded with 50 rounds of ammo next to it. Gone,” Rocker said.

He said his wallet was also stolen.
“Some punk 19-year-old kid is carrying a very powerful handgun right now,” Rocker said. “It’s kind of deja vu all over again.”
Rocker said this isn’t the first time someone has broken into his car.
“I’ve lived in Atlanta for almost 20 years and I’ve had my car broken into four times. It’s been at LA Fitness every time,” he said.
Officer Lisa Holland said thieves have been hitting the city hard. She believes that prevention is key.
“Take your wallet with you. Computers, guns, we’re getting all sorts of items taken out of cars,” Holland said.
Rocker said he’s placing blame on the management at LA Fitness. He said they’re not providing enough security.
