Other key races on the line during Election Day

ATLANTA — The race for Atlanta mayor was what many were watching for on Tuesday but there were other key races across metro Atlanta that will impact Georgians.

Atlanta City Council President, Fulton County Commission Chair, East Point Mayor, Roswell Mayor and Georgia House and Senate seats are other big races voters went to the polls for.

The polls closed at 7 p.m. at 8 p.m., depending on the location.

12:19 a.m.: Mary Norwood is asking for recount as race is split by just 759 votes

11:47 p.m.: Atlanta's mayor's race now coming down to votes in DeKalb County:

11:45 p.m.: Felicia Moore has been elected Atlanta City Council President.

11:44 p.m. Fulton County Commission Chair At Large goes to Robb Pitts.

11:18: Lori Henry wins mayor of Roswell with 55% of the vote.

11:15 p.m.: After large amount of votes posted, Keisha Lance Bottoms takes the lead with 51% of the vote, with 89% of precincts reporting.

10:47 p.m.: Robb Pitts is currently leading the race for Fulton County Commission Chair:

10:46 p.m.: Keisha Lance arrives at election party. Not sure what time she will appear at her party at the Hyatt Regency downtown.

10:35 p.m.: Former mayoral contender Peter Aman just took the stage to caution the crowd that this will be a long night as Fulton's votes trickle in.

“Things are really positive, but we’re not in the position to say anything definitive at this point," he said to cheers. "We’re optimistic.”

10:15 p.m.: Marietta City Council Ward 1 goes to Cheryl Richardson.

10:09 p.m.: The first numbers from Fulton County have come in for the Atlanta Mayor's race. The race is currently down to 2% difference with Norwood in the lead with 51% of the vote.

10:06 p.m.: Cumming City Council Post 1 goes to Chad Crane. Peachtree City Council Post 3 goes to Kevin Madden.

9:56 p.m.: Mayor Kasim Reed arrives at Keisha Lance Bottom's election watch party.

9:53 p.m.: New numbers are in for Atlanta mayor's race:

9:49 p.m.: Maryline Blackburn wins Smyrna City Council Ward 3 race with 54% of the vote:

9:43 p.m.: All of the votes for Atlanta mayor's race are currently coming from the areas of the city that are in DeKalb County.

9:17 p.m.: Atlanta mayoral candidate Mary Norwood arrives at her election watch party.

9:08 p.m.: Early votes have come in for Smyrna City Council Ward 3 race. Maryline Blackburn is currently ahead with 56% of the vote. Few precincts reporting.

8:54 p.m.: Some of the first numbers in the Atlanta City Council President race show Alex Wan ahead of Felicia Moore 67 percent to 33 percent. Not all precincts have reported yet.

8:46 p.m.: Some of the first votes are in for Atlanta mayor and Mary Norwood is ahead of Keisha Lance Bottoms 63 percent to 37 percent. Not all precincts have reported yet.

8:39 p.m.: Jaha Howard is ahead of Jen Jordan, 52 percent to 48 percent, in the Georgia Senate District 6 race. Not all precincts have reported yet.

8:37 p.m.: Kevin Madden has won the Peachtree City Council Post 3 with 63 percent.

8:36 p.m.: Voters have chosen Vanessa Fleisch to continue being mayor of Peachtree City. Twelve of 12 precincts have reported.

8:33 p.m.: Maryline Blackburn is currently leading Travis Lindley, 56 percent to 44 percent, in the Cobb County - Smyrna City Council Ward 3 race.

8:27 p.m.: Cobb County is reporting that Jay Davis is ahead of Cheryl Richardson 56 percent to 44 percent in Marietta City Council Ward 1. Not all precincts have reported yet.

8 p.m.: All polls are now closed across north Georgia.

7:42 p.m.: Results are coming in for Georgia House District 60. De'Andre S. Pickett is leading Kim Schofield 55 to 45 percent. Not all precincts are reporting for this race.

7:20 p.m.: Channel 2's Dave Huddleston learned more than 64,000 people have voted in Fulton County.

7 p.m.: Polls have now closed in parts of Georgia.
