Employee shot during McDonald's robbery; responding police officer crashes

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — An employee was shot Tuesday night inside a south Fulton County McDonald’s, and a police officer crashed responding to the call.

Fulton County police told Channel 2 Action News an armed person held up the fast food restaurant on Old National Highway and shot someone inside. The group then ran from the scene.

The male employee was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

An officer responding to the scene was involved in an accident with another car at the intersection of Bethsaida Road and Old National Highway.

The officer and the passenger were both taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are checking on the condition of the other driver involved.
