NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — Family members have given Channel 2 Action News photos of two people killed in a double homicide in Newton County.
Police were called to the home on Sept. 17 at about 4:20 p.m. when a man called 911 saying he killed two of his family members.
Police found the bodies of 43-year-old Bernadene S. Lebert-Davis and 21-year-old Robert M. Kelli-Davis inside the home on the 100 block of Helm Drive.
The suspect, Robert Davis, was charged with two counts of murder.
Neighbors called the neighborhood close-knit and were shocked to learn what happened inside the home.
"You would never think anything was wrong in the house period," neighbor Reagan Jackson said. "We just saw fire trucks and we thought maybe there was a fire but then when we came back there was a helicopter."
