ATLANTA — Atlanta police are looking for the person who they say shot an 18-year-old inside an off-campus student apartment.
"We just heard, 'Help! Somebody help! Somebody help!,'" said a witness who asked Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez to remain anonymous.

Police gave Jaquez an exclusive look at the room where the shooting happened. There was a gaping hole in the wall inside the unit.
Officers said Shantell Washington was nearly killed after someone shot her in the face and neck.
The witness we spoke with not only heard the commotion but called 9-11.
“We didn’t know who they were. They weren’t residents of WestMar," the witness said.
Washington, who we’re told was with a girlfriend, was visiting a male friend from high school when she was shot in the kitchen of the unit.
Witnesses told police the suspected gunman, Chaz Christian, walked out of the building nonchalantly, telling people and security guards to call police because there had been a shooting.
Police say a gun was recovered at the scene.
A guest log obtained by police indicates the suspect was also let into the apartment complex, but the police report doesn’t specify who he was visiting.
“It was just scary,” said the witness.
When Jaquez went to the leasing office to try and get a response, she was referred to the corporate office.
