CARROLLTON, Ga. — Counselors are meeting with upset students while police search for the man who killed University of West Georgia student Tyler Ford, 23.
Carrollton Police Capt. Chris Dobbs told Channel 2 Action News the man was found dead at the entrance to the apartments on Lovvorn Road, just north of the University of West Georgia. %

It all happened around 4:30 p.m. in unit 504 Wednesday. Detectives say the victim's three roommates, who were home at the time of the shooting, called 911 after hearing gunshots go off.
Carrollton police think Ford's shooting was part of a robbery. The student's roommates say they all heard a knock, a fight and then a gunshot.
Student Nikkian Scharschmidt says she got a call from her parents in Snellville once they heard about the fatal shooting.

Tiara Vargas, who lives across the street from where the shooting occurred, says she got a similar call from her parents.
"Oh, my mom, she was telling me to stay in the house, make sure I don't go anywhere, lock the door, lock my room door," Vargas said.
Investigators admit they have very few leads and desperately want help from students who might have seen someone running from the scene.
