President Trump 'not happy' over private jet use by HHS Sec. Tom Price

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said Wednesday he's "not happy" with former Georgia Rep. Tom Price.
Now Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Price is under fire for using expensive private jets for government business trips.

Channel 2’s Justin Gray has learned Price's future in the administration is uncertain. New information revealed Wednesday said some of those private jet flights combined government business with personal business.

That's why Trump was asked directly if he would fire Price.

“I will tell you personally, I’m not happy about it,” Trump told reporters Wednesday.

Reports claim Price took dozens of flights on private jets for government business. Those flights reportedly cost taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars.

“I was looking into it and I will look into it,” Trump said.

Trump is not the only one looking into Price's pricey travel.

The House oversight committee sent a letter to the White House and 24 federal agencies Wednesday asking for information on senior officials' use of private jets.

The ranking Democrat on the committee sent a separate letter to Price asking for all documents related to his travel by Oct. 10.

When Channel 2 Action News first reported on Price's use of private jets last week, an HHS representative said commercial travel isn't always feasible due to Price's busy schedule.

“A true fiscal conservative will find excuses to save money, not spend it,” David Williams with the Taxpayer Protection Alliance told Gray.

Trump said Price knows where he stands.

“I’m not happy about it, and I let him know,” Trump said.

Gray contacted Price's office Wednesday for reaction to the president's comments but so far, he has not gotten a response.
