ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a crash that seriously injured a deputy in Rockdale County this morning.
Georgia State Patrol said Rockdale County deputies were working a crash on I-20 E near GA 162 around 3:45 a.m.

A Rockdale County deputy directing traffic was hit when a driver in a 2017 Nissan Rogue swerved and hit the deputy.
The driver and vehicle remained on scene. The deputy was airlifted to an Atlanta area hospital with serious injuries.
The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy is expected to make a full recovery. No other injuries were reported.
