ATLANTA — Wednesday forecast
The first of two cold fronts has passed by, bringing lower humidity.
It will be warm Wednesday afternoon with highs in metro Atlanta in the mid-80s.
The second cold front will move through Wednesday night into Thursday morning and bring with it the coolest air since May.
The last time we had 50s in #ATL was May 23rd.... the coolest air in 4+ months is right around the corner.

Looking ahead
Temperatures Thursday morning will drop to near 50 in the mountains with lows near 60 in the metro area.
Severe Weather Team 2 says Thursday afternoon will be mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s.
By Friday morning, there will be widespread 40s in the mountains with 50s in most other places.
As we head into the weekend, temperatures will warm into the upper-70s and low 80s, but the humidity stays low with lots of sunshine.
Tropical Storm Matthew
Tropical Storm Matthew has formed in the far eastern Caribbean and Severe Weather Team 2 says it has the potential to be a significant storm.
The storm hit wind speeds of 60 mph with 70 mph gusts Wednesday afternoon.
Matthew is expected to strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane by Friday afternoon.
By Monday, it is expected to be a Category 2 hurricane near Cuba and Jamaica.
Severe Weather Team 2 will be watching the system closely.
