SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Shoppers say they are worried about their safety after a man was robbed, beaten and shot at in a grocery store parking lot.
Police said the incident happened around midnight Wednesday at the Kroger on Old National Road. The store closes at 1 a.m.
Police said a 47-year-old man was putting groceries in his car when two armed robbers walked up to him and demanded his wallet and cellphone. They pistol-whipped him and threatened to kill him if he didn't give them the keys to his car.
The victim tried to run into the store for help, and police say the robbers fired at him. One of the bullets hit the store window.

Kroger sent a statement that said in part: "Kroger has invested in several measures at the Old National Highway location, including in-store security, security patrol in the parking lot, surveillance equipment and associate training."
Detectives are looking at surveillance video to see if they can find anything that helps them identify the robbers.
