DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Traffic was tied up for hours in metro Atlanta after a raging fire tore through a MARTA bus early Tuesday morning.
The tandem bus caught fire on the ramp from Interstate 85 south to I-285 west at Spaghetti Junction in DeKalb County around 4:45 a.m.
MARTA spokesperson Stephany Fisher confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that the driver was the only person onboard the bus, and that there were no injuries.
Triple Team Traffic’s Mark Arum says he’s never seen a fire raging like it in his 20+ year traffic career.
Video of the fire showed flames reaching at least a dozen feet in the air, and part of the woodline caught fire.

Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach at the scene says firefighters doused the flames and the fire is mostly out. But he says that traffic is still blocked in the area.
Authorities are still trying to figure out what started the fire.
