ATLANTA — Several metro Atlanta restaurants are participating Thursday in "A Day Without Immigrants" protests going on across the nation.
The nationwide boycott is meant to show the impact of immigrant dollars on the U.S. economy.
Immigrants across the country are missing work, classes and shopping.
The effort is being tracked on Twitter using the hashtag #daywithoutimmigrants.
Several local restaurants are either closing or donating proceeds to organizations that support refugee and immigrant rights.

Chai Pani and Botiwalla
The Chai Pani restaurant group, which owns Chai Pani in Decatur and Botiwalla in Ponce City Market, as well as two restaurants in Asheville, will donate 100 percent of its eateries proceeds to the ACLU.
