BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — This is the type of news we loving hearing on Sunday mornings.
Tripp Halstead’s mom posted on their Facebook page that Tripp had one of his "best days ever yesterday."
"He was just so happy," Stacy Halstead said. "He smiled all day. He almost laughed out loud a few times."
The Barrow County boy was critically injured when a tree limb fell on him --- and he continues to make progress in his recovery.
"That mouth would open and his eyes were so bright, you just knew a laugh was right there trying to come out," Stacy Halstead said.
Tripp spent all day with Nana while Bill and Stacy went to lunch with their friends Nina and Sam and went to a brewery in Mills River, according to the Facebook post.
Tripp is having multiple serious surgeries in 2016 and we'll be sure to being you the latest during his recovery.
