NEW YORK, NY — Two families, miles apart, had the same dream to adopt a new baby.
Jennifer and Thomas Doering of Wisconsin were already the parents of three boys.
They decided to adopt.
Meanwhile, in Washington State, Nicole Rainsberry and her husband Scott were also hoping to expand their family.
“Adoption seemed like a great way to add to our family," Nicole Rainsberry said.
The searches led both families to China.
Jennifer Doering said she started looking up information about daughter Audrey’s past, and found a photo of her sitting with her foster mother beside a girl that they now know to be her identical twin, Gracie.
The two sisters reunited for the first time on "Good Morning America" Wednesday.
