Rain moving through metro Atlanta

Weather radar for Feb. 27

ATLANTA — Rain moved through metro Atlanta Monday afternoon and will continue into the week.

A warm front moved in overnight into Monday morning, causing clouds to thicken.

That warm front was followed by showers across north Georgia Monday afternoon.

The rain began clearing out of the metro area just in time for the afternoon commute.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said a better chance of storms will come later in the week.

Tuesday has only a small chance for an isolated shower or storm. A strong cold front will move in with a chance of widespread showers and storms. A few of the storms could be strong to locally severe, Nitz said, but they will likely weaken as they move through metro Atlanta.
