A few months ago, a couple was supposed to attend a Blake Shelton concert – but their dream date night soon came to an abrupt end.
Jonathan Daniels had just purchased concert tickets for his girlfriend’s 23rd birthday when he was in a life-threatening motorcycling accident Sept. 15.
“I bounced off of the car and was ejected into a telephone pole, which stopped me from moving,” Daniels said.
Police on the scene and the emergency medical technician said they didn’t think Daniels would make it through the night – but they were wrong.
After 10 days in the trauma ICU, Daniels was moved to another room to finish his recovery, but that road would be a long one for him and his girlfriend, Lindsay Baker.

Daniels injuries were extensive – ranging from two collapsed lungs, one punctured lung, brain bleeding, a lacerated liver, kidney and spleen, three fractured ribs, eight fractured vertebrae and both shoulder blades fractured.
“My girlfriend never left my side and kept praying for me and made my stay in the hospital very comforting,” Daniels said.
Daniels explains that now, even a couple months later, Baker is helping him shower, eat, walk, and drives him to doctors' appointments.
Because of Daniels' accident, he and Baker didn’t get the chance to go see Blake Shelton in concert on Oct. 8. Now, Daniels says it's his turn to help Baker.
Thinking of ways he could thank his girlfriend, he decided to write a letter to Blake Shelton himself.
“I was just hoping maybe you would see this letter and help me give her the birthday present she deserves,” Daniels said.
Daniels wrote the letter and shared it on Facebook explaining that all Baker wants to do is see Blake Shelton in concert and that it would make her smile, which is his biggest wish.
Since posting the letter on Facebook, more than 300,000 people have shared it in hopes their wish will come true.
