MEMPHIS — Justin Timberlake is being investigated by the Shelby County District Attorney's Office in Tennessee after taking a picture of himself inside a polling place in Memphis.
Timberlake flew to Memphis on Monday to vote at New Bethel Baptist Church in Germantown.
In a photo posted to his Instagram account, Timberlake posed in front of a voting machine.
Tennessee state law prohibits voters from taking photos or audio recordings inside polling places.
In a statement, the DA's office said, "The Shelby County DA's Office was made aware of a possible violation of state election law. The matter is under review by the DA's Office."
The offense is a class C misdemeanor punishable by 30 days in jail and/or a $50 fine.
